The design of the Paddle Hut emphasized a simple, axial scheme. As you approach the entrance, your eyes are drawn up by the vertical board and batten siding and the tall window.
The skylights at the top of the stairs serve as a warm invitation, drawing you up into the main space.
The original courts were reconfigured to create a centerpiece for the paddle program.
Floor-to-ceiling windows provide excellent viewing of the courts, bridging the gap between outside and in. By incorporating warm wood tones, inviting seating, and a double-sided fireplace of local fieldstone, a cozy exterior space was created to enjoy the colder months.
